To us, at Women in 3D Printing, Women’s Day is every day.
With that being said, let’s take today as an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved in the field since last year’s Women’s Day.
At Women in 3D Printing, that is:
- 53 additional women featured on the blog since Women’s Day 2017
- 27 women on the stage of a #3DTalk panel
- a brand new job board
We also invite you all to take a stand and look around you: Who are the people you’re working with? Is your team gender-balanced? Good – just make sure to keep it this way. If it’s not, try to find a way to change that, and hiring more of the missing gender. Need a bit of help finding great women to work with you? If you have a job to share, you can do it here.
Not hiring? There are still so many things that you can do to get us closer to a gender-balanced industry: Women-owned companies still don’t have as much funding than men-owned companies, we still have a lack of girls in engineering fields, we still don’t have that many women on stages at conferences, and more importantly: we do all still have unconscious bias towards women.
Let’s try and be better at this. Let’s make sure Womens’ Day is Every Day.
