We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our R&D department Embedded Systems and work on the product development of our existing and new Ultimaker products (we have at least two coming up in the next 12 months).


We are looking for someone who is passionate about problem solving, learning and cares about the bigger picture impact of their work. We work in multidisciplinary project teams so we are looking for someone who is interested in building strong productive relationships with teammates and between teams.


What you’ll do: 


  • Designing, making requirements and specifications of electronics, including PCBs
  • Working with other team members in one or more product development projects (also on optimal system wide design choices)
  • Executing pre-EMC testing and supporting external EMC testing
  • Creating tests, collect and analyze data, and applying an academic approach to engineer design problems
  • Driving your designs from proof of principle stage through to production and maintenance & support.
  • Working with Electronic Manufacturing Services companies

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Electronics Design and PCB layout in an product development environment
  • Working knowledge of EMC (design and testing) and SI
  • Experience with DFM, DFT and DFA and base knowledge of embedded SW
  • Affiliation with mechanics, mechatronics and 3D printing
  • Ability to find innovative solutions if already known solutions are insufficient
  • Ability to support improving our agile way of working
  • Natural ability to be proactive, passionate and inventive
  • Flexible and quality oriented attitude
  • Capability to work under pressure
  • A productive attitude that works toward solutions
  • Work experience with multidisciplinary product development project teams
  • Very good communication skills in English

Definitely a plus 

  • Experience with Altium
  • Software skills (Python, C, ARM, Linux, SCRUM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of product safety regulations
  • Experience with Solidworks
  • Knowledge of mechanics and mechatronics systems
  • Very good communication skills in Dutch
