Core Responsibilities
As AM Materials Platform Manager, your main purpose is to lead the technical development of resin materials for Additive Manufacturing (AM). Due to the newness of the technology and the materials you will collaborate with multiple parties both externally and internally. Moreover specifically, you will be:

  • Scouting, mapping and evaluating potential of materials, their manufacturing process and supply chain actors for the relevant AM technologies
  • Engaging with suppliers in the materials development: guide work by setting clear technical targets and reporting back results on a regular basis
  • Developing the requirements for materials by co-development with suppliers and internal tests, as well as by dialogues with internal collaborators
  • Share your learnings and ensure transfer of materials knowledge to the Materials Platform and other relevant internal partners

Out of our Headquarters in Billund, you will join the Additive Manufacturing (AM) program, which is focusing on the research and development of design methodologies and technologies, production technologies, materials, and applications. You will be part of the Materials Department, which overall is responsible for materials for core products like polymers, colours, and inks. The aim of the department is to maintain a safe, high quality and sustainable material platform for the LEGO® products to enable business needs and empower the organisation to use materials to their full potential.

Do you have what it takes?
To be successful in this position you have several years of proven experience in polymers science, SLS powder development or toner development. You are collaborative by nature and a phenomenal problem solver with good communication skills that enable you to build positive relationships, and you know how to convey a clear message to those around you. Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D organizations.
  • Knowledge of and strong experience with testing of polymers (thermoplastics), and/or experience with toner or SLS powder development
  • Excellent presentation skills and writing skills
  • Strong result orientation in combination with scientific interest and curiosity
  • Disciplined systematic approach to quality control, trouble shooting and problem solving e.g. using Six Sigma or PPS (Practical Problem Solving) approach
  • Proficiency in English both written and spoken
