The Quality Engineer-Materials is responsible for ensuring quality processes and standards are in place and followed in the manufacturing and procurement of Stratasys systems and consumables. The Quality Engineer leads and ensures production and quality requirements are communicated and understood, resolve quality-related concerns to customers, conducts supplier and internal assessments and oversight activities, and supports verification/validation activities.


Other duties and responsibilities are:

•    Responsible as the key liaison between operations, suppliers, and the customer, ensuring that overall specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for all purchased product

•    Perform quality system, process, product audits, and surveys to ensure that all suppliers are meeting SSYS business requirements including flow down and quality standards

•    Drive defect containment and assure problem resolution in a timely manner for component or material quality issues impacting production lines and external customer
•    Develop inspection methods and plans, test method validation, and component capability assessments supporting component specification development and the identification of critical features
•    Lead risk management activities, including the development and implementation of FMEAs, process control plans, and quality agreements

•    Support suppliers in the development, approval and execution of process validation protocols and reports for critical processes


•    Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering or equivalent
•    Production environment with complex high-technology hardware and software-based
•    Knowledge of APQP/PPAP methodologies
•    Understanding of Lean methodologies and green belt in Six Sigma
•    Excellent statistical/analytical skills for problem-solving with the ability to teach/coach others
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to accomplish objectives
•    Must understand and be able to apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode, and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
•    Good engineering practices including documentation, engineering change control, reporting, and cost/benefit analysis



•    PowerPoint and presentation skills
•    Project Management Certification
•    1-3 years’ experience with electricity commodities – CCA’S, motors, electromechanical, IPC-610, IPC-620
•    1-3 years’ experience with mechanical commodities – Sheet metal, injection molding, machining
•    Certified Quality Engineer
•    Certified Quality Auditor
