We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a solid background in industrial machine design and project and schedule management to join our dynamic team of accomplished engineers. We have a mixture of incremental and innovative design work ahead of us. In this role, you will do everything from design and analysis to drawings, from prototype assembly to implementing products into manufacturing, from setting and scheduling project timelines to supervising and reviewing junior colleagues’ work.

Given our unique product, you also will learn from fellow engineers and materials scientists regarding our product challenges. With this dynamic environment comes the need for a highly energetic engineer who is ready to dive into design and testing with the purpose of propelling our product development forward. We are looking for someone who can be autonomous, is self-motivated, a quick learner and a solid communicator.   • Supervise 2-3 junior CAD engineers, plan and review their work.
  • Lead ongoing engineering changes and new features implementation into a new line of our industrial 3D printers.
  • Schedule and maintain project timeline, work with vendors and suppliers to understand supply chain and make sure timely delivery of components.
  • Be involved in all aspects of product release, including hands-on with prototypes and hand-off to production.
  • Create product requirements and qualify designs against specifications.
  • Design system components, including detailed drawings for manufacturing using best practices and GD&T.
  • Transition prototypes into production-level components, designing for manufacturing and cost.
  • Maintain 3D CAD models and documentation of system architecture and components.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to perform detailed design and analysis.
  • Apply a strong analytical approach to the design process, including mechanics, thermals, and tolerance analysis.
  • Lead FMEA and design reviews.
  • Maintain a high level of communications with cross-functional teams and partners.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Mechatronic engineering is a strong plus.
  • 5+ years of professional industrial machine design experience is a requirement.
  • Project management experience, preferably with machine or product design projects.
  • Experience in supervision of a technical oriented team.
  • Exposure to using project management software like jira or asana.
  • Strong background in machine or product design. Skilled in designing for sheet metal, CNC, cast, and injection molded parts as well as implementing linear motion, actuators, sensors etc.
  • Experience in the fields of robotics, PLC, industrial automation is a plus.
  • Experienced using SolidWorks for 3d CAD and 2D drawings. Knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
  • Must have taken several products through the New Product introduction development cycle; from idea to volume manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in development process, including specification, documentation, compliance, revision control, and BOM.
  • Hands-on experience fabricating with drill presses, bandsaws, manual mills/lathes, etc; able to build mechanical assemblies, troubleshoot, rework, and repair is a plus.
  • Able to communicate and interact with internal supply chain and manufacturer sales representatives, component distributors and contract manufacturers.
