Website Makers for Change
Makers for Change, previously known as Makers for COVID-19 is recruiting it’s second cohort! After producing and donating 82,000 units of much needed PPE (under the Makers for COVID-19 organization), we wanted to continue the maker spirit beyond the pandemic. We rebranded to Makers for Change and launched a student Ambassador program that enables students to build organizations while impacting their communities through making. In this upcoming cohort, students will have the option to make prosthetics for animals, 3D print toys for children in need, and laser cut sneeze guards for better COVID safety.
We are currently recruiting high school and college students for a second cohort. Students and teachers (on the behalf of their students) are welcome to apply! No previous experience or machinery necessary! We will work with all teams to provide access to machinery. Plus, we provide all teams with seed funding to get them off the ground! In this 6-month program, students will participate in entrepreneurial and technical workshops led by experts. This program pushes students to think creatively about solving real-world problems, instills in them the initiative to be proactive in their communities, and empowers them to see their ability to do something bigger.
