Additive Manufacturing Project Leader

The Additive Technology Center (ATC) Manufacturing Project Leader will provide global cross functional leadership for progression of the Concept Laser Mline through the aviation additive product industrialization (AAPI) process. In this role you will be responsible for working closely with the team to forecast and execute the manufacturing readiness of the Mline, working closely with the Additive Integrated Product Team (IPT) and the ATC. You and your team will utilize, own and help improve the manufacturing standard work including: development schedules, router generation, process risk identification and closure, MRL progression, value stream mapping, predicting and executing cost out initiatives, producibility, SPS, and process capability. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
Produce initial M Line development schedules and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisions. Maintain/Modify schedules accordingly and record key decisions.
Lead team and customer meetings with an on-time delivery focus and detailed knowledge of the product and processes. Communicate key technical and business information between organizations and divisions.
Drive a culture of lean (cost out) by utilizing team ideas, design/manufacturing practices, process capability, and the producibility process. Support producibility and process capability reviews for additive components to ensure manufacturability
Manage risk and root cause/corrective action for the M Line including working with peers and the IPT.
Provide an open environment for collaboration with design and manufacturing engineering to execute key changes in the development process.
Develop technical solutions and partner with other IPT technical leadership to implement and transition Mline to our lean and production facilities.
Promote professional growth, inclusive and collaborative teaming with timely performance feedback and coaching.
Ensure company compliance initiatives are implemented and followed.
Provide manufacturing consultation on any new work coming into the ATC including initial development schedules, resource needs and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisions.
Lead and improve upon the aviation additive product industrialization (AAPI) process with a focus on lean and collaboration between functions.
Support manufacturing facilities to industrialize additive manufacturing supply chain processes
Partner with internal customers to develop a production catcher and implementation plan
Identify and execute projects to increase quality and decrease part manufacturing cost

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution
A minimum of 5 years in engineering, manufacturing, quality or materials.

Desired Characteristics
Engineering Degree (or related area of study)
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Additive technology
Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team
Strong project management skills
Six sigma and lean experience
Experience in leading customer meetings
Previous manufacturing hardware ownership
GDT trained and experience with additive drawings
Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a vision into a tactical plan
Ability to execute with new and unclear requirements & goals
Knowledge of mechanical design
