Full-time, Nights. The night position pays a $1 USD per hour shift differential (on top of what is listed below).

The 3D printer operator keeps our farm of printers running. They monitor equipment and inventory,  He or She is a non-exempt employee and  (after a probationary period) earns between $17 and $25 USD per hour as a full-time employee. The position does come with benefits.


  • Organize work by reviewing orders, scheduling work, and checking & gathering supplies.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Maintain equipment; keep it clean and perform scheduled maintenance; every machine should be inspected before each print.
  • Perform minor repairs (e.g.unclog nozzles, etc.).
  • Maintain tools; keep clean and put away.
  • Perform general shop duties (assemblingshelves, sweeping floors, carrying items, stocking inventory, etc.).

  • Maintain a safe environment by keeping a clean workspace/shop and following ALL safety procedures.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications, 3D printing blogs, etc..
  • Review samples and slicing instructions to best understand final product.
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
  • Compare printer output to models for accuracy; ensure consistency with specs and record/discard defects.
  • Select appropriate machines and/or load correct material for a job.
  • Determine and program size of jobs to get the most efficient use of machines and material.
  • Monitor machines while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperatures and identify issues.
  • Keep accurate records of material use and product yield.
  • Prepare parts for finishing(paint).
  • Assemble parts into working units.
  • Review final output to ensure specifications are met.
  • Prepare product for shipment.


  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to use hand-tools (screwdrivers,pliers, sockets & wrenches, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the properties of plastics
  • Ability to work with models in CAD programs and Slicing software
  • Good at basic maths with some analytical abilities
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree will be an asset
