The Role: Additive Materials Intern, Summer


What You’ll Do:

• Provide hands on support for characterization of AM materials and products.
• Support and organize material characterization activities for evaluation of AM materials.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Follow defined lab and manufacturing procedures and processes and help to create or improve them where needed.
• Cognizant of Environmental, Health, and Safety issues, focus on continuous improvement, and comply to all industry specifications and standards.

What You Have:

• College/university juniors or seniors who are candidates for BS in Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with other engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Hands on experience with materials test laboratory equipment and processes such as SEM, ICP, EDS, EBSD, IGF, pycnometer, PSD measurement, XRF, and OES

What Sets You Apart:

• Experience with heat treatment of metallic alloys.
• Experience with an engineering CAD software package such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Experience with statistical analysis.
• Experience using non-destructive inspection equipment such as an X-ray CT scanner.

• Current students who are candidates for a MS in mechanical engineering or similar
