Divergent is seeking an experienced and motivated Additive Manufacturing (AM) intern to advance our production system through the evolution and maturation of tools to support our metal additive manufacturing operations. We’re committed to transforming the Divergent 3D production system away from traditional manufacturing methods and to 3D printing enabled systems using new materials and technologies. To do this, we need a forward looking and innovative engineer who will help to shape the future of manufacturing 3D printed automotive structures and components.

What You’ll Do:
– Assure proper documentation of various factory and machine technical data in a digital manufacturing workflow
– Learn about and implement improvements to address gaps in defined AM procedures and post-processes
– Become knowledgeable on essentials of build file preparation for metal additive manufacturing
– Learn about Design for Additive Manufacturing and provide feedback on manufacturability to achieve process quality objectives
– Capture data supporting part dimensional accuracy goals

What You’ll Have:
· College/university juniors or seniors who are candidates for BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
– Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with engineering and manufacturing groups to understand process constraints and provide design inputs for improved manufacturability
– Experience with an engineering CAD software package such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD

Preferred Experience:
– Prior experience such as an internship in a production manufacturing environment
– Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methods
– Experience using CAD and CAM tools to support production of 3D printed components
