As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support Blue Origin’s launch vehicle and space programs.  You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of additively manufactured spaceflight and supporting hardware, continuous improvement, and process development. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer, Applications, role will assist in identifying and focusing new applications of AM technology, and work closely with customers to solve manufacturing challenges. It is required that the incumbent intimately understand the challenges present in AM aerospace applications.


Primarily, the successful candidate will work closely on polymeric and composite additively manufactured spaceflight and other supporting hardware alongside principle designers and responsible engineers. In this role, they will help optimize design for additive manufacturing (DFAM) strategies, aid/guide material and technology/machine selection, and review-and-uphold engineering requirements for AM applications.



Provide DFAM direction and feedback through design reviews.
Help inform research, development, and production releases of AM hardware.
Review and approve AM engineering.
Ensure all specifications and company standards are met during release.
Help inform new technology acquisitions and AM research activities.
Aid in the creation and regular improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Work directly with hardware owners, technicians, and manufacturing engineers, to help oversee part pre-processing, manufacturing, and post-processing.

Completion of a four-year engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
4 years of experience working with AM applications or similar role.
4 years of experience with AM software packages (simulation, slicing, packing, etc.)
An attitude of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication.
Demonstrable understanding of general AM polymer characteristics and process limitations.
Demonstrable DFAM knowledge and experience.
Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and with humility to stakeholders.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

3 years of experience operating various AM machines and related post-processing equipment.
Experience drafting and releasing Standard Operating Procedures.
Excellent and demonstrable communicative skills.
