Additive Manufacturing Engineer

WE Are…Searching for a researcher who has initiative and is naturally curious in the area of Additive Manufacturing to join our group of more than a dozen scientists, engineers, and staff in our Center for Innovative Material Processing through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D) team.

What YOU Will Do…Depending upon your level of experience, you can function as lead or assist in the proposal and projects process of metal and ceramic additive manufacturing.  As you grow in your role, you will have the opportunity to present at conferences and to sponsors, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and obtain funding for your projects.  You can function in this role as a Research and Development Engineer or, if you hold a PhD and prefer the non-tenure faculty track, as a Research Faculty member.

What YOU Need to be Successful…

·       A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and at least two years of experience in the additive manufacturing area

·       Experience in Computer Aided Design, Machine Learning, and Matlab

Experience in the following areas is a plus, but not required…

·       A Master’s degree in a related field

·       Powder characterization

·       X-Ray computed tomography

·       Image processing

·       A Confidential level security clearance
