As a Castheon Senior Additive Manufacturing (AM) Project Engineer you’ll be at the forefront of aerospace and AM technologies. Working with leading commercial and government organizations you’ll own AM development projects from conceptualization and scoping through execution and conclusion. In this role you’ll have a wide range of responsibilities and opportunity to work across many facets of AM including feedstock development, parameter development, design optimization, machine characterization, and post processing optimization. At Castheon you’ll be part of a rapidly growing world class engineering team, interfacing internally with sales, program managers, application engineers, materials and process engineers, technicians, machinists, quality champions, and company leadership. This role reports to the Director of Materials and Manufacturing Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities / Results:
Research end users’ needs through communication with sales, directly with clients, and internal stakeholders. In some cases, travel to trade shows and customer sites is required.
Own projects across their entire lifecycle, ensuring on time delivery and within cost.
Create design of experiments, build layouts and files for a range of laser powder bed fusion printing equipment.
Hands on support of design, printing, and post-print processes to meet your project objectives.
Supports creation of quotes, research proposals, and final reports.
Actively participates in team problem solving, process improvement, and decisions.
Lead internal efforts to enhance our quoting, design, simulation, printing, laboratory, and post-printing processes.
Overtime you may be expected to mentor, teach, and be an engineering technical resource for the organization including junior employees, technicians, interns, or co-ops
