The Senior Process Development Engineer is responsible for initiating, planning, and executing new 3D printing process projects in the Healthcare organization of 3D Systems, a leading providor of 3D printed medical devices. The role identifies and justifies printer, material, and post-processing needs in conjunction with key stakeholders across all production print processes, establishes and prioritizes the projects, and then executes the project plans by leading a cross-functional project team. This position is also responsible for the training and dissemination of print process capabilities to the marketing, sales, and other engineering teams within the organization.
Market analysis of 3D printer, material, and post processing needs in Healthcare.
Communication and coordination of market needs for printers and materials to the R&D teams.
Detailed project assessment and project planning inclusive of gains, investments, resources, and timing.
Project leadership of initiatives across cross-functional teams.
Development of 3D printing processes.
Coordination and execution of process qualifications inclusive of IQ, OQ, and PQ.
Biocompatibility and sterilization validations.
Process risk analysis deliverables such as process hazards and pFMECA
Design transfer of the developed print process to commercialization potentials.
Support of medical device development efforts as a subject matter expert in 3D printing and materials.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Chemical engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in medical devices or similarly regulated field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Cross-functional project management experience.
Competency in production 3D print processes.
Self starter with a motivation to succeed.
